Movement & survival

Slides stop at the board edge, just before your own stone, or on the first enemy. You cannot choose to stop early. In standard play, landing on the far row creates a threat: you win only if a stone remains there after the rival responds. Immediate mode wins on arrival.

You can also win by exhausting or immobilizing the rival. A third occurrence of the same position is forbidden. Ivory may exchange the first opening with a mirrored stone (the pie rule). Standard reserves contain ten stones each; short variants contain four or six.
